A delectable white wine lemon clear, and green tones, of color. A delicate aroma of lemon, green apples and dried linden flowers. Very good structure in the mouth, fresh acidity and the same flavors of fresh fruit with the typical minerality of Encruzado. The result is a firm and luscious white wine with a silky texture, a linear structure and a remarkable depth

Food-Pairing

Delicious with (grilled) fresh fish, creamy risottos, scallops, shrimp, and textured fish like Chilean sea bass or monkfish. Roasted root vegetables, a simple pasta al fredo or a classic French blanquette de veau would also be very successful combinations. And don't forget cheese; Encruzado is delicious with semi-soft and milder washed rind cheeses. A risotto with pumpkin, chickpeas and roasted almonds and roasted lobster with lime butter

Grapes: Encruzado 100%

Grapes come from south-east oriented vineyards at an altitude of 485m

30% of the must aged for 9 months in new french oak barrels of 500 liters, 30% in old oak barrels and 40% in stainless steel

The harvest took place from the 8th of September till the 3rd of October. Spring began earlier with initial signs in January and February. The technical team took

the right decision to delay the vegetative cycle. The vines were only pruned in March, thereby preventing production losses caused by the late April frosts in the

Dão demarcated wine region There was higher than normal rainfall during the spring period, which had the positive impact of restoring necessary water levels in the soil and thereby ensured perfect development of the remaining vegetative cycle. The summer was hot anticipating the harvest. Balanced maturation, very concentrated musts. This harvest proved to be generous in quantity and quality of the grape. We were able to create unique wines based on our technical work and knowing how to wait for the right moments, in the search for the best natural balance, combined with careful control of the phenolic ripeness of the grapes.

The precision, complexity, concentration and generous fruit, combined with the elegance and fluidity of the musts, enabled us to produce wines with a profile and richness that reflect our unique terroir.
