A delicious wine ideal for hearty red meat and game dishes
Grapes : A blend of 41 different castes, including Rufete, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Francisca, Sousão, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and many others typical of the Douro, from the old vines of Quinta Vale D Maria, aged over 60 years, vineyards with exposure to the South, Southeast, Southwest, East and West. The grapes of these fields presented an average graduation of 14 ° Baumé at the entrance of the winery.
All the grapes are trodden in mills 1-3 days before fermentation, and then fermented for 7 to 10 days at temperatures of 22 to 27 °C, with manual pigeages. The wines are transferred to new French oak barrels of 225 or 300 liters from different tantrums (Seguin Moreau, François Frères, Taransaud, Louis Latour and Berthomieu), where the malolactic fermentation takes place. All wines were then aged for 21 months in French oak barrels (75% new barrels and 25% one-year barrels), and the different batches obtained from each fermentation were kept completely separate until the composition of the final batch, about one month before bottling.

Bright dark purple core and hue. Pure and intense nose offering violet, rose petal, cassis, dark cherry and gingerbread spices. Very dense and vigorous palate with high concentration, fine extraction and grainy tannin, well integrated oak and digest dark fruit notes, very muscular, yet elegant with a very long lingering finish.
