A Colheita shows a recognizable vintage style, but is not the huge repository of a great vintage port which ripens further in the bottle. Elegant red color that turns into amber. Very intense bouquet of dried fruits and nuts. Elegant and with finesse. Flavors of dried plums and nuts. And all this perfectly balanced

Colheita's are seen as Tawny's of very high quality. Comes from a single harvest and has spent at least 7 years in French oak barrels of approximately 550 liters. Colheita port wine represents less than 1% of the total annual production of port. Like Vintage, a Colheita port is only released when the best conditions are met and after approval of the IDVP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto)
